Canada is home to the second-largest Ukranian diaspora in the world! In 1896, Ukranians and other Eastern Europeans were invited by the federal government to settle the prairies. Today, there are roughly 1.3 Ukranian Canadians, making them the largest Slavic group in Canada. Visitors have the chance to try traditional Ukranian foods like cabbage rolls and pierogi!

Doukhobors are are group of Russian dissenters known for their radical pacifism, many of whom settled in Western Canada. Today, there are approximately 30,000 descendants in Canada.
