Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village
Tofield, Alberta
Canada is home to the second-largest Ukranian diaspora in the world! In 1896, Ukranians and other Eastern Europeans were invited by the federal government to settle the prairies. Today, there are roughly 1.3 Ukranian Canadians, making them the largest Slavic group in Canada. Visitors have the chance to try traditional Ukranian foods like cabbage rolls and pierogi!
Doukhobors are are group of Russian dissenters known for their radical pacifism, many of whom settled in Western Canada. Today, there are approximately 30,000 descendants in Canada. Learn more about Doukhobor culture and history, and try traditional Doukhobor foods in the Doukhobor Discovery bistro!
Colony of Avalon

Step back in time with this 1730s trading post featuring authentic experiences for all age groups. At Roma’s restaurant, a heritage lunch is served daily from 12-1:30, featuring specialty bread cooked in Roma’s outdoor oven.
Wanuskewin Heritage Park
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Wanuskewin has been a sacred site and gathering place for over 6,000 years, and is a living reminder of Indigenous people’s relationship with the land. Every year in August, Wanuskewin Heritage Park celebrates a Han Wi Moon Dinner, celebrating the Northern Plains’ people, landscape, ingredients, and culture. The meal features Bannock, Lakota squash, bison, wild rice, and more. Not able to attend the Han Wi Moon Dinner? The restaurant on site features foods made from traditional ingredients all year round.

A living history museum in New Brunswich that invites you to explore costumed characters, gardens, scenery, and 70 historic buildings. The Kings Head Inn offers traditional Acadian foods, with staff dressed in period clothing to transport the diner back in time.
