The Souris Valley Museum features numerous displays and historic buildings, both inside and outside the Museum. Our collection deals primarily with the settlement of Southeast Saskatchewan.
Displays within the Museum include the rooms of a house, a stable, many vehicles, a hunting/trapping display, a farming equipment display, and an Indigenous display.
In our courtyard the Museum features the Schneller Schoolhouse, which is one of the only historic property located in the Rural Municipality of Estevan No. 5, a Cook Car, and a Homesteader Shack.
The Museum also features an external display of large mining equipment.

Fun Facts

In 1998 Georgean and Stanley Durr donated their collection of 3000+ artifacts to the City of Estevan. The Souris Valley Museum officially opened its doors in September 2001.

The Schneller Schoolhouse is one of the only designated historical building in the RM of Estevan No. 5. The Schoolhouse was moved to the Museum’s courtyard in 2002.

In 2016 the Museum was renovated to include 2 washrooms and a programming room that allowed the Museum to be open year-round.

The Museum provides programs, camps, and events year-round for families, children, and seniors.
