Historical Summer Road Trips in N.B #CanadianVisitList

Looking for a unique N.B road trip this summer? Try these historic spots!

1. Kings Landing – you can easily spend an entire day here immersing yourself in 19th century life. A favourite stop of mine is always the print shop. Don’t forget to pick up some candy at the gift shop before you leave!

2. Gallery 78 – This art gallery is always a delight to visit, with the Queen Anne Revival architecture and beautiful and unique exhibits. This gallery is a must-see if you are wandering along the trails in Fredericton and want to escape the summer heat.

3. Ministers Island – Visiting this place is an absolute adventure. From crossing the ocean floor at low tide, to exploring the trails and buildings on site, you can easily spend hours here – but make sure you cross before the tide comes in. A favourite stop for photos is at the stunning two-level stone bathhouse.

4. Charlotte County Archives and Old Gaol – If you are a fan of all-things-spooky, this is the stop for you! From June – August you can tour the fascinating old gaol.

5. McAdam Railway Station – One word: PIE! Go get some, you’ll thank me later. On another note, the station is a gem to visit in any season. Christmas at the Station is a winter wonderland experience like no other.
