#CanadianVisitList Small Buildings Big Impact
My #VisitList highlights my favorite small but mighty heritage buildings around Ottawa. Ottawa is home to many BIG buildings and institutions but the smaller ones are where our community history shines brightest. I love to grab a lemonade and watch the boats go by at the Bytown Museum. At Watson’s Mill and Dickinson House, I like interacting with the costumed interpreters and listening to the sounds of the operational mill. The Merrickville Blockhouse is the perfect spot to learn a little history after strolling the local shops. And the McDougall Mill Museum is a great historic spot outside the hustle and bustle of the city. I can’t wait to visit my favourite buildings this July and hopefully discover some new ones and I hope you will too.
