How could we choose only one historic place in the West End?
Winnipeg’s West End is full of history in every corner, from Portage to Notre Dame, from Carlton to Strathcona.
Our neighbourhood is home to Winnipeg’s historic Central Park, over 1000 businesses, and more than 100 different restaurants of multi-ethnic cuisines. In the West End, you will also find one of the largest outdoor mural collections of Winnipeg. These murals tell the stories of influential people, historic times and celebrations that have helped shape the neighbourhood. The West End is also home to many historic buildings such as the Sherbrook Pool (built in 1931), the St. Matthews Anglican Church (built in 1901) and the Minto Armoury (built in 1914), to name a few!
Get to know the stories behind our local art by joining a Mural Tour, offered by the West End Business Improvement Zone. For more information visit www.westendbiz.ca
