Notes from "Celebrate Makers Coast-to-Coast-to-Coast with Passport Places"
The largest and one of the oldest wooden structures in Newfoundland and Labrador, Our Lady of Mercy was constructed by local craftsmen who used traditional woodworking techniques. The ceiling of the church was built using the same techniques to build the hull of a schooner, and the church is decorated with marble stations of the cross carved by sculptor Gerald Squires.
