With a spectacular view of Port au Port Bay and standing 115 feet at it steeple, Our Lady of Mercy Church, Port Au Port West, is the largest and one of the oldest wooden structures in Newfoundland and Labrador. Construction of the church began in 1914 and was completed in 1925 debt free as much of the labour was done by local volunteers with donated supplies.
