A circa 1806 restored Georgian house that belonged to the first Municipal Clerk of the Municipality of the District of Chester. Charles Lordly. The main rooms feature articles and furnishing that reflect the late 1800s. The main display this year features a display of wooden half model boats. Other displays feature coopering, Blandford and area display, and a “do you remember?” display featuring artifactis and events from the Municipality of the District of Chester. Adjacent to the main building is a research area and the main office all surrounded by a park and children’s playground. Off site we feature a 1905 train station with a caboose parked on the track outside. Inside Station 20 Craft Shoppe, Oak Island Display, Station memories, wrought iron work, and gold mining. A separate display featuring Forman Hawboldt, inventor of the make and break marine engine which changed the face of fishing on the entire East Coast.

Originally built by Capt. McCurdy who was later lost when moving from the boat to the shore. It was known as Evergreen Hall.
Charles Lordly married Capt. McCurdy’s daughter, Margaret in 1844.
Charles Lordly became the first clerk of the Municipality of the District of Chester followed by his son Edwin.
Edwina, Edwin’s daughter, was a skier in the 1936 olympics, was a nurse in WWI, a spy and her husband was knighted by King George VI and she became Lady Edwina Chamier.
