The Knaut-Rhuland House is a late 18th-century residence located in the heart of Old Town Lunenburg on Pelham Street between King and Prince Streets. Built in an architectural style now referred to as “British Classicism”, this 2½ story house serves as a museum depicting life in the early years of Lunenburg. The Knaut-Rhuland House is named for its first two owners, merchants Benjamin Knaut and Conrad Rhuland – and has been designated a Canadian National Historic Site as well as a registered Heritage Property of both the Province of Nova Scotia and the Town of Lunenburg.
