At Government House, travel all the way back to Regina’s Victorian past. Our Provincial Heritage Property and National Historic Site is bursting with over 131 years of stories to tell! Step into 1905, and explore the museum with our Visitor Experience Hosts telling their first person interpretive stories, enjoy the art gallery which features provincial artists, or visit our feature exhibit or interpretive centre all for FREE.

Perhaps take a guided tour of our Edwardian Gardens or participate in one of our ecological tours. We offer various family events such as Trick or Treat at Government House, Old Fashioned Victorian Christmas and Family Day festivities throughout the year.

Outdoors, enjoy the beautiful Edwardian Gardens surrounding the building — 8.5 acres of grass, trees, and flowers that make an idyllic setting for a picturesque picnic, dog walk, or even a game of Frisbee. Watch for this year’s summer events such as Yoga in the Gardens and Lunch on the lawn! With daily tours and activities to take part in, every day at Government House is a new adventure!

Fun Facts

  • Government House china and utensils are kept in a vault in the dining room.
  • The facets in the Master Bedroom Ensuite are plated with 10 carat gold…a gift from visiting royalty.
  • Edwardian Gardens at Government House is one of only two such gardens in Canada.
  • There were “flush” toilets in Government House when it was built in 1891 but because they were very loud and would wake people up, chamber pots were still used at night.
