Our museum is housed in a former Canadian Northern and Canadian National Class C Railway station that was built in 1912. It is one of few stations still on its original foundation. This was the first building in Avonlea, Saskatchewan and was the hub of the community for many years. Avonlea Museum purchased the building in 1982 and today it serves as part of a cultural museum for the community with guided tours and displays of historical significance. It is the centre for cultural activities throughout the summer months.
