Concert in the Cove! The Earhart Cultural Heritage Organization is thrilled to announce a community collaboration between the Mistaken Point Concert Series and the Southern Avalon Performance Series. This country themed show will feature local performers Lucas Ward and Diane Ryan, alongside Kim and Lorraine Conway:
Kim and Lorraine Conway are a mother and daughter duo that have been playing and singing together for 20 plus years. Lorraine led the way, and started singing when she was 15 yrs old in a family band with her brothers. Following in her mothers footsteps, Kim started her own musical journey at around the same age with her own band. They eventually decided to join forces and have been playing together on many stages, often being referred to as “the Newfoundland Judd’s”!
In the last few years they have been playing with NL Promotions, including their next tour in October called “Nashville 90’s” which will be performed across the island. Both Lorraine and Kim have a strong passion for any genre of music, but it’s Country that they grew up with and love most. This talented mother and daughter duo sing with their hearts and souls, with a shared bond that is felt in their music, and enjoyed by their audiences no matter where they roam.
Happening on Saturday August 24th at 7 pm at Edge of the Avalon Interpretive Centre, Portugal Cove South.
Tickets are $20 at the door or call to reserve at (709) 438-1100.
ECHO appreciates this partnership opportunity with another fantastic organization that’s been bringing music to PCS for the last 10 years.
With thanks to Music NL for their community presenters grant and the Government of NL in this Year of the Arts for supporting both our organizations to keep on showcasing the art and culture we have in abundance, here on the Southern Avalon.
