Wanuskewin Heritage Park is an Award winning National Heritage Site that details the varied cultures of the Northern Plains Indigenous Peoples. For over 6400 Years every Nation on the Northern Plains has gathered here for hunting, ceremony and trade. This site is currently on the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage Designation, soon to become the first in Saskatchewan’s history.
Today the site features daily cultural tours, state of the art exhibits as well as over 7km of trails to explore the stories within the opimihaw Valley. The site also features, a herd of Plains Bison that are essential to life on the prairie.
