The Guard House is one of four buildings remaining from the British Military Compound. This 1828 building has been fully restored. Complete with an Orderly Room, Guard Room, and Five Cell Prison there is plenty to explore at this free, living museum. The Guard House is staffed with Heritage Interpreters from a local theatre troupe, Fredericton Outdoor Summer Theatre, and in addition to on-demand tours of the Guard House, they also give guided heritage walking tours of the city at 10 am and 2:30 pm, as well as a special “Guard House Theatre” show Monday – Saturday at 11:30.
