Built in 1905 as Steveston village’s first bank, this heritage building in the heart of the community serves as a working post office, and as a museum to preserve, promote, and tell the history of Steveston. The site is managed in partnership with the City of Richmond and Steveston Historical Society.
Come visit the Japanese Fishermen’s Benevolent Society Building to learn about the Japanese Canadian community in Steveston, and hear the stories of Japanese Canadian internment in the “Okagesama de” exhibit.
Be sure to stop by the Post Office to visit our resident artist, Roxsane Tanner, and her watercolour works currently on display in our Pop-Up Art Studio.
