Since 1936 the Original Nova Scotia Lobster Supper has offered a unique dining experience. As you enter past the crew cooking the lobster and mussels and over the lobster Red Carpet, you settle in for a feast. Fresh boiled lobster, fresh cultivated mussels, salads, homemade rolls, your choice of dessert and coffee or tea. Steak, chicken, vegetarian and a children’s menu are also available. Our goal is to serve the best lobster in a unique setting with friendly Nova Scotian hospitality. Open Mother’s Day in May to Thanksgiving in October, Wednesday to Sunday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Reservations highly recommended. Come check out our new oceanside patio overlooking beautiful Hubbards Cove!

In May of 1946, Roy Harnish dug a large hole in his cow pasture overlooking Hubbards Cove. His dream was to build a sparkling new Dance Hall for the Summer ‘Swing Set”. On August 24th – only three months later, the Shore Club opened to the sounds of the Git Cunningham Orchestra/ The dances were and immediate hit and to this day there has been a live band on stage every Summer Saturday night! Currently while home to the lobster suppers the Shore Club has also been named the top music venue in Atlantic Canada by the East Coast Music Awards.

The Construction of the Shore Club was put in the hands of Boyd Adams and his crew of 5 men from the Mahone Bay area.  They were ship builders who had been recently laid off following their work on the War effort.

With the War just over, the government was dismantling the base at Debert NS. Many of the building supplies from the base were repurposed in the building of the Shore Club. Our beautiful hardwood floor came from there as well as the glass windows. If you notice the overlap in the centre of each window – they were installed this way because this was the size of the windows in Debert, but they didn’t quite fit our window frames. Such was the mentality post war.
