The SS Atlantic Heritage Park and Interpretation Center memorializes the wreck and rescue of the SS Atlantic. The SS Atlantic was the greatest loss of life on a transatlantic passenger ship until the RMS Titanic. We are here to share these stories.
The Interpretation Center brings to life the history of the ship, the wreck and the rescue of the survivors of the SS Atlantic. It also shares the history and heritage of the local communities. While visiting, read through our interpretive panels to learn more about the tragedy and heroism of the wreck. View the artifact displays to learn about life onboard the ship. Interact with our knowledgeable staff to learn more about the selfless generosity of the local communities.
