This public art gallery is located in a vintage rail station originally built by Grand Trunk Railway in the 1890s steps from the site of the smaller station erected by the Victoria Railway Company at the end of its line between Kinmount and Haliburton Village c. 1873. The rail bed is now a popular recrearional Rail Trail (Haliburton County Rail Trail).
Railway buffs will find that many of the original features remain including high ceilings, painted oak paneling, original trim, exterior and interior detail work and a working freight scale.
The station now houses a contemporary craft and visual art gallery and a delightful gallery shop showcasing work by local artisans making this an interesting stop on your adventure in haliburton’s Highlands and one the whole family can enjoy.
