Norwich & District Museum is located in the old Quaker Meeting House! Join us for a gallery tour of the early history of Norwich, visit a Salt Box house of town founder Peter Lossing built in 1810, and explore our dairy and implement barns. Norwich may be a small town, but it has a rich history! Ask us about Solomon Allen’s Vinegar Works, the broom factory and the 1837 Rebellion. Entry to the Museum is free (although we welcome donations)!
Our special events include concerts in the Gore United Church, displays of our working blacksmith’s forge, and, as part of the Oxford County Cheese Trail, butter churning demonstrations (price TBC). From September to May, we host a free monthly Lunch and Learn. Kid camps, school groups are more than welcome to contact the museum for a day of fun learning and activities! If you are interested in archival information such as old families, houses, photos and such, the Norwich Archives is located next door and is open Thursdays, 10-4.
