MONOVA operates both the Museum of North Vancouver (115 West Esplanade) now open in The Shipyards District of Lower Lonsdale and the Archives of North Vancouver (3203 Institute Road) in Lynn Valley. In addition to the two physical visitor centres, MONOVA supports several other online/offsite experiences for the public to engage with and learn about the past, present and future stories of North Vancouver.

MONOVA has been in operation since its official opening as the North Shore Museum and Archives at the foot of Lonsdale, in 1972. The new Museum, a 16,000 square foot purpose-built facility, opened in 2021. In addition to being the the home of Streetcar 153, MONOVA is full of interactive exhibits and innovative programming. You’ll find yourself drawn into the landscape, meet people from different eras, experience Coast Salish culture, and contemplate what it all means for our future.
