Hollywood Theatre is a classic art deco movie theatre, reimagined as a flexible arts and entertainment space.
Operating as a neighbourhood theatre from 1935 to 2011, architect Harold Cullerne designed the theatre with neon signs reflective of the streamlined Jazz Age. It evoked the glamour and elegance of the 1930s, a time when Vancouver was growing rapidly, building other landmark structures such as Lions Gate Bridge, the Burrard Bridge and City Hall.
Extensive renovations were completed in 2020 while maintaining the style of the original structure. With a new audio/visual system, The Theatre now offers multi-dimensional programming for both local and international performers.
