The Crocket House was built in the late 19th century and it is a stunning example of Queen Anne Revival architecture. It is now home to Gallery 78, the oldest private gallery in New Brunswick. The building is an incredible example of “picturesque eclectic” designs, featuring impressive original stained glass windows, decorative shingle, a three storey circular turret, wood columns and details, fireplaces, and more.

Fun Facts

The Crocket House was built in 1898.

The Crocket House’s chimney is a designated natural habitat for endangered chimney swifts.

Concerts have been hosted in the Crocket House for nearly 100  years.

A log cabin dating back to 1789 sat in the Crocket House’s location, before the Queen Anne Revival home was built in 1898.

The Crocket House was built by prolific local craftsman Joshua Limerick, who also built the Charlotte Street School and the York Street School in Fredericton, NB.

The Crocket House has been the home of Gallery 78 since 1989, which was first established in 1976.
