The Craigleith Heritage Depot is a museum, a branch of the Blue Mountains Public Library, an archive, and a tourism information centre: a true community hub! Conveniently located next to Northwinds beach and situated on the old railway line which is now the Georgian Trail.
This 1880’s train station is located on land once owned by Sir Sandford Fleming’s family, just below what is now Blue Mountain Resort. Our exhibits reflect the extensive history of the area; including the ski industry, apple growing, indigenous history, fossils, and local family heritage.
We have family friendly exhibits including virutal reality. Dive to the Mary Ward Shipwreck without getting your feet wet, or walk the Path to the Village of the Souls with Ojibway-Saugeen Elder Strong White Buffalo Woman. Join us for Historic Places Day!
