Central Smith Creamery: Making Ice Cream Dreams Come True Since 1952!

Located just outside Peterborough, Ontario, Central Smith has been serving the surrounding community since 1896 when it was first founded as a farmer’s co-op producing quality cheese and butter from milk provided by the local farmers.

In 1952, Central Smith began exclusive production of premium ice cream, and in 1978 it was purchased by the Scates family, who began developing a variety of sherbets, frozen yogurts, dietetic ice cream and frozen desserts, and in 1979 they opened a small window at the factory door through which they could serve scoops to the locals.

Today, Central Smith ships coast-to-coast through their distribution network, working hard to ensure that customers always receive exceptional products and service.

Central Smith offers a complete dairy bar with dreamy treats including cones, sundaes, milkshakes, frozen yogurt and 1.89L or 4L containers of ice cream.

We Dream in Ice Cream!
