One of the most uniquely designed heritage fire stations in North America, Central Fire Station was built in the Edwardian Classical style in 1920. Drawing from classical models, the architect repurposed a Roman basilica plan to ingeniously house the various functions of early 20th century firefighting.
Contains original fixtures including fire poles and master electrical control panel for street corner fire alarm boxes. Firefighting Heritage Exhibit contains equipment from over 100 years of firefighting and a 1926 Gotfredson Bickle Fire Truck.
