The log castle is in a remote location in Northwestern Ontario, on White Otter Lake and was built by James Alexander McOuat, 1903-1917. The main building is three stories high with a four story tower. Built of white pine logs, 37 feet in length, 1600 to 2000 pounds each, his craftsmanship and knowledge of building with wood is a marvel to examine. McOuat’s reason for building his castle is still a mystery.
