From original contemporary to historical exhibitions from Alberta, across Canada and around the world, explore over 6,000 objects (created by a mix of local & international artists!) throughout three bright and airy floors of viewing space. Attend enlightening talks and films in the Ledcor Theatre, roll up your sleeves at drop-in arts workshops at the Singhmar Centre for Art Education, then take home your very own masterpiece from Shop AGA.

Maud Bowman founded the Edmonton Museum of Arts (now the AGA), which made its first home at the Edmonton Public Library.Her dedication and networking skills were crucial in securing support and resources for the museum, and she also established art education programs that continue to thrive today.
The AGA’s structure includes 65% of its old building – which adds up to 37,000 sq. ft. of original structure!
The AGA’s first exhibition took place in the Palm Room of Fairmont MacDonald. Admission was 10 cents and reportedly over 2000 guests viewed the exhibition.
In 1975, the Edmonton Art Gallery (now the AGA) received 90 artworks from the Ernest E. Poole, which remains the most significant contribution to the Gallery’s collection to date.
Abigail Edith Condell bequeathed nearly $560,000 for the construction of a new gallery building, leading to the establishment of the Arthur Blow Condell Memorial Building in 1968 (named after Condell’s late son).
