Since the 1st of July 1886, when the corner stone of the future Wolseley Barracks was placed, the building and its surroundings have provided a vast training area for many generations of Canadian soldiers. Beyond the military drills and parades, these grounds have served as a backdrop for celebrations of milestone events or community gatherings. The changes and downsizing over time have completely altered the current layout, from one of the most important Army infrastructure in the country to a small CAF establishment compelled to maintain “A” Block because of its designation as a National Historic Site.

This pre-recorded panel will bring forward unique views from individuals who lived and worked here: Philip Spencer, former Commander of Canadian Forces Base London, Michael O’Leary, former Regimental Adjutant The Royal Canadian Regiment (currently passionate researcher) and John Mombourquette, Chairperson for The RCR Museum, former member of the Reserve Force. The panel will be moderated by the Museum Curator, Georgiana Stanciu.

The video will premiere on the museum’s YouTube channel on Saturday July 3rd at 11:00am.
