Rideau Artist of the Year Competition – July 25th, 2026
The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum invites artists to the picturesque heart of the Rideau Canal corridor to create an original work of art, in the tradition of en plein air.
This competition is open to artists of all mediums. Artists will have one day to complete an original work of art and submit it to the museum’s gallery, where they will then be reviewed by a Jury. The public is invited to watch the artists compete and vote on their favourite artwork. All completed, submitted pieces will be displayed in the museum’s gallery following the competition, in a showcase of local talent. A jury of art professionals will review all submissions and award the title of Rideau Artist of the Year, 2026.
