The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum invites artists to the picturesque grounds of the museum to create an original work of art that captures the beauty of Smiths Falls, where industrial heritage meets the natural landscape, in the tradition of en plein air art making.
Rideau Artist of the Year is open to artists of all mediums. Artists will have the weekend (September 9th & 10th) to complete an original work of art and submit it to the museum’s gallery, where they will be reviewed by a jury.
All completed, submitted pieces will be displayed in the museum’s gallery following the competition, in a showcase of local talent. A jury of art professionals will review all submissions and award the title of Rideau Artist of the Year, 2023.
