Choose your favourite people and join us at the Sharon Temple on Sunday, July 17, 2022 for a picnic competition. To enter the competition, create a group of 2-6 people and register through sharontemple.ca or pay admission on site. A flat rate will be charged per-registered group depending on group size.
The event will take place from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm. Groups will be required to bring their own food, drinks, and picnic materials. Dogs are welcome at the picnic, however, please be advised they are not allowed within site buildings. ALCOHOL IS NOT PERMITTED. Importantly, while there are picnic tables on site, their availability is not guaranteed; please be prepared to have your picnic on the grass.
Picnics will be judged on creativity, aesthetic, and food! In order for your picnic to be judged, you must upload a photo or video to your Instagram story and tag @sharontemplenhs. Importantly, your Instagram post must be set to ‘public’ in order for us to view it. If you do not feel comfortable with this setting, please inform us and we will make other arrangement for your picnic to be judged. The winner of the picnic contest will be announced on Monday, July 18, 2022. The winners will receive a gift basket made up of locally sourced treats from the East Gwillimbury Farmers Market!
In addition to the picnic, visitors are welcome to explore our beautiful historic site. Staff will be present to provide tours and answer questions!
