Join us from home and tune into our online lecture, presented by Historian Derek Boles!

John Street was one of the few roundhouses in Canada built exclusively for passenger locomotives. Derek Boles’s next online webinar will focus on the Canadian Pacific and Toronto, Hamilton & Buffalo steam locomotives serviced at both the first and second roundhouses from 1897 to 1960. These include the diminutive 4-4-0s used at the turn of the 20th century, to the mighty 4-8-4 Northerns built in 1928, to the streamlined 4-6-4 Hudsons and 4-4-4 Jubilees that were introduced later in the 1930s. Over 200 images will show these engines at the Roundhouse and in operation throughout the Toronto Area, as well as maps and diagrams explaining their operations.

The lecture will be presented digitally through the WebEx platform in one evening and divided into two sections with a short break in the middle. Once you register for this lecture, please review the Order Confirmation that you will receive from Eventbrite. It contains all of the relevant information needed to access our online event.

Don’t forget to register and reserve your space! Please note that lecture capacity is limited due to the hosting platform used.
