The tours run every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7:30 pm-8:30 pm, beginning in July and ending in mid-September.
We meet at our local community centre located at 315 Stephen Ave. Field, BC.
The tour runs for about one hour depending on how many stories are told as we make our way through the community stopping at buildings with heritage status. The tour is open to anyone who wants to attend.
To learn more about this history, visitors have the unique opportunity to walk the streets of Field with a local resident who relates the history of the town, buildings, and railway in the places where they happened. Participants will hear tales of the railway men, surveyors, and scientists. They will gain first hand knowledge of a community that has had to adapt to its environment.
It’s free of charge but donations are gratefully accepted.
At the end of the tour, participants know the answers to many questions they would never have thought to ask.
