At Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site costumed interpreters paint the picture of life as it happened in the 18th century. The sights and sounds of the 18th century are visible in period homes, exhibits, and themed service areas. Here, visitors may stroll alongside the citizens of historic Louisbourg who bring to life the leisurely activities of the rich along with the back-breaking work of the fishermen, soldiers and servants.
For Historic Places Days at Fortress of Louisbourg, additional reenactors will add to the interpretation, setting up along the waterfront, an area historically busy with activities of trade and commerce welcoming visitors from around the world.
Come visit this 18th century a fishing port, military base and center of commerce, a town which for half a century shared front rank importance in France’s overseas empire.
