2023 marks the 60th anniversary of Pembroke’s Antique Car Club / Model A Ford Club. This exhibit was designed by members to celebrate its anniversary.
Some info from the exhibit:
“In 1963, Bert Bucholtz, Len Etmanski, Don and Jack Stresman, Roy Wegner, Lorne Troutman and Renton Patterson were instrumental in forming a club for Model A Ford owners, holding monthly meetings in the basement of Roy Wegner’s plumbing shop on Bruham Ave. The Club grew quickly to some 40 members with 23 Model As – sedans, coupes, touring, pick-up and a wooden-bodied station wagon, meticulously restored by Elmer Scott.”
“In 1976, after much debate, members agreed to change the name of the club to The Antique Car Club of Pembroke to recognize a growing variety of other makes of cars.”
This exhibit will be on display until the end of the 2025 season. From October to May, you can make appointments to visit the museum and check out this new exhibit. Otherwise, you can drop by Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm in the months of July and August to see it.
