May is Museum Month!
This May, stop by the North Lanark Regional Museum every Tuesday afternoon anytime between 1 PM and 3 PM to participate in our exciting new touch tours! Have you ever wanted to take a glimpse behind the glass case, and really know what an object would feel like in your hands? The North Lanark Regional Museum is giving YOU the opportunity to hold Museum objects and artefacts in your hands, showing you how to safely handle museum artefacts, and what we can learn by handling them in the first place! As always, admission to the museum is by donation. Support your local museum this May and learn more about what goes on behind every exhibition at the North Lanark Regional Museum!
This program is the first step in the development of an object-handling session designed to engage with socially isolated and vulnerable groups to improve overall community wellbeing and cultural participation. Your experience and feedback will be used to improve the program and contribute to future Museum research!
