Celebrate Canada Day with FREE admission! Engage all your senses – sing “O Canada” as you watch the flag raised at Town Hall; join Parks Canada’s mascot, Parka the beaver, in the procession to the fort; savour a piece of cake; and listen to the Annapolis Basin Community Band, weather permitting.

Celebrate Canada’s 156th Birthday with FREE ADMISSION! Enjoy the pageantry of the 78th Highlanders and enjoy the bustle of this British fort. Hear the boom of the noon gun followed by the traditional 21-gun salute at the entrance saluting battery. Explore the Citadel’s newest exhibits and enjoy the atmosphere while you celebrate our nation’s birthday!

Various Maritime Living History groups join forces to create an 18th century military camp inside the historic walls. This period during the American Revolution saw thousands of Loyalists immigrate to Nova Scotia making a significant contribution to what would eventually become Canada. Camp life will be on display including cooking, washing, blacksmithing, and children’s games.

A pop-up that brings together two traditional activities in Asian culture: Tea and Mahjong. Join us as we drink tea, play mahjong and experience places we’ve never been. All levels welcome. All ages welcome.
