The Ottawa Trans Library opened its doors in 2022 as a space for Trans individuals to find community, connection, and information. Even though it is a new site, the Ottawa Trans Library carries decades of connections to Ottawa’s broader Trans community, including the city’s first Transgender support group Gender Mosaic which emerged in 1988.
The Ottawa Trans Library has made a lasting impact on the city of Ottawa, hosting regular events and acting as a safe space for community members to learn and engage with one another.
