Join us for our first ever Limestone Barrens Day at Port au Choix National Site in lovely Port au Choix, NL!
At the end of a week long BioBlitz on the Great Northern Peninsula of NL and following the 2nd Annual COD Festival in the local town, we have decided to continue to celebrate the lovely limestone barrens of Port au Choix and what beauty it and the whole area holds!
Come learn about why Port au Choix is such a special place both culturally and naturally and how respecting Mother Earth and every thing in it is so very important for today and future generations.
Meet us at the site at 1 pm for our Opening Ceremony followed by a walk led by our partners Intervale and SAM at 1:30 pm to discover the tiniest of life and grandest of living things that call this place home.
At 2:30 pm, join us for some limey refreshments and treats inside the site, get a special airbrush plant or wildlife tattoo, a special collector Special at Risk Trading Card, and make your own caribou stuffy.
Finally at 3:30 pm, observe the closing ceremony and get to see an unveiling of some very special conservation minded canvases signage done by our very own youth of Parks Canada’s Caribou Kids Klub at French Shore Academy school.
We hope to see you there!
