Art Factory is a 10,384 square foot factory on the main street of Renfrew, Ontario. The unique space brings together an Art Gallery, Art Supply Store, Art Studio, Art Classes and Event Space / Venue Rental.
Art Factory was originally a foundry, built by French-born Luc Imbleau following his arrival in Renfrew in the early 1860s. It was a world leader in the production of manhole covers for over 140 years. Five generations of family members led H. Imbleau & Sons Ltd. until the closure of the foundry in 2011.
Imagined and established by International Award-Winning Poet and Abstract Painter Patrick John Mills, Art Factory is an example of adaptive reuse of existing buildings.
Art Factory will be the largest independently owned, no grants / non government funded, privately funded Art Centre in all of Canada.
