The Huron County Historical Society and the Huron County Museum invite you to We Lend a Hand: The Forgotten Story of Ontario Farmerettes : a documentary film that tells the extraordinary story of a contingent of 40,000 teenage girls who volunteered on Canadian farms and helped to win the Second World War. After 2 years in the making, the film is ready to be experienced!
Two screenings will be hosted at the Huron County Museum at 110 North Street, Goderich. After each screening there will be a Q&A with the filmmakers and special guests, including Huron County’s Bonnie Sitter. Signed books will also be on sale by cash or Etransfer.
Doors open half an hour before screening time. Screenings will begin promptly at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The film will be 50 minutes, followed by the Q&A.
Book now to save your spot in the museum theatre via Eventbrite, as seating for each screening is limited! In lieu of a ticket fee, cash donations appreciated on day of the event to support the filmmakers’ work and ongoing efforts to share the stories of the Farmerettes. Book sales also by cash only. Please plan ahead, as there is no cash machine on site. Walk-ins welcome depending on seats remaining at showtime.
