First referred to as the birthplace of insulin in 1923, Banting House commemorates the life and career of the co-discoverer of insulin, Sir Frederick Banting. Known primarily for his role in the discovery of insulin, Banting was also an artist, scientist, and war hero. Banting House is a former residence and current museum in London, Ontario, Canada. Located at 442 Adelaide Street North, it is known as the “Birthplace of Insulin.” It is the house where Sir Frederick Banting woke up at two o’clock in the morning on October 31, 1920 with the idea that led to the discovery of insulin.
