The Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village is an outdoor heritage facility. Visitors are able to walk directly into any of the historic buildings and view the artifacts, which are displayed openly. The open concept and self-guided museum means you are free to wander through six acres of beautiful gardens, including a large community garden area.
The majority of the buildings in the Village are authentic, restored, and furnished with period furniture. Artifacts and everyday tools used by the owners and inhabitants of that time are displayed in each building. The history is not roped off or preserved behind glass. Most importantly, we do request that you respect these artifacts.
