Learn about the prominent families who once lived in the heritage house. The elegant second empire-style home was built in the late 1800s for the Phair family. The Phairs owned a general store in Lillooet and family members held various government positions.
The next residents and then owners were the Miyazaki family. Doctor Miyazaki was respected and loved by the community. He was a notable figure in Japanese Canadian History.
You can see Dr. Miyazaki’s office just as he left it, museum artifacts, historic photos, and antiques. Local art, cultural and community events are held at the house and grounds during the summer months.
Lillooet’s Historic Miyazaki House is open to visitors from May to October. Donations are gratefully accepted.
