Downtown St. Catharines is the historic centre of the City of St. Catharines. The City is known for its main street, St. Paul Street, which is one of the only curved main streets in Ontario. With buildings dating as far back as the early-19th century, there is historical architecture throughout the downtown, including over 100 heritage buildings. The downtown is also home to Montebello Park, one of the few Canadian examples of the work of famous landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted (who designed Central Park in NYC).
