For over sixty years Black Creek Pioneer Village has been a destination for Torontonians to explore the past and reflect on our present. This exploration is made meaningful by our 40 historic buildings, 60 rare and heritage breed animals, 6 gardens growing flowers and plants from heirloom seeds, and one-of-a-kind programs that engage people of all ages. Meet costumed historians who involve visitors with a hands-on exploration of life in 1860s’ Ontario. Home to some of the oldest buildings in the Toronto Region, including the 1816 Stong Family Home, and a collection of 50,000 nineteenth-century artifacts. Black Creek Pioneer Village is a department of the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.

Faits amusants

Black Creek Pioneer Village started on an entirely different location. Just north of today’s Black Creek Pioneer Village is an area known as the « North Property. » Here, you can find a two-hundred year old log barn, which once housed a museum and was called Dalziel Pioneer Park. That museum grew to the south, and became Black Creek Pioneer Village.

Several heritage buildings are still located on the North Property. Although not typically open to the public, it is used for film shoots, festivals, and other special programs.
