Nestled in the breathtaking foothills of the Canadian Rockies, Historic Morleyville stands as a testament to the complex, shared history of the Îyârhe Nakoda People and early pioneers. Step back in time to 1873 and explore one of the oldest heritage sites in Southern Alberta.
Opened in June 2026, the Morleyville: Stories of the Land and People Interpretive Trail was developed over five years through a collaborative partnership between the Society and Stoney Elders and community members. The trail highlights the deep connection of the Îyârhe Stoney people to this site and reflects how their culture is rooted in the land. It also shares stories of the early settlers and the new lives they built in the foothills. Together, these stories show how Morleyville has been influenced by many peoples, histories, and the land.
