Mission statement: The Michelsen Farmstead Provincial Historic Resource collects, preserves, restores, exhibits, and interprets artifacts which represent rural, settler lifestyles of Southern Alberta with a special focus on the influence of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints [Mormons] on the development of Stirling and the surrounding region from 1899 to 1939. The collection is for people of all ages who are interested in the settlement of a village based on the Plat of Zion layout which provided for the immediate needs for settle survival: shelter, food, production, education, religious and social contact.
