The historic place is now known as the Laurel Packinghouse, and was originally the B.C. Growers Packing House. This brick industrial building was built in 1918, and has value as one of the oldest fruit packing-houses remaining in Kelowna. It served various fruit-shippers, both independent and cooperative, over the years.
Today the Laurel houses the Okanagan Wine and Orchard Museum and a gift shop featuring made-in-Okanagan treats and artisan goods. It is a popular rental venue for community events, family celebrations, fairs, and festivals.
