Situated at historic Mile 300 of the famous Alaska Highway the Fort Nelson Heritage Museum sits on over 1 acre of property and houses not only a main log gallery but also 7 outbuildings that are all bursting at the seams with artifacts dating back to the early 1800’s.
Our theme is transportation and the Alaska Highway but we have a little bit of everything. Visit Fort Nelsons first post office, wander through the Hudson Bay House, be facinated by the CN Communications building, or take a step back in time in our Trappers Cabin.
If you love cars, prepared to be awestruck! Too many to count but we do have a car that is more than 100 years old. You will love our car shed.
We have a quaint gift shop, a relaxing picnic area, a privately run ice cream shack and an artists cabin.
So much more we could list but you will have to come see for yourself. We look forward to seeing you .
