Though it is hard to tell today, this area of Mount Pleasant–north of Broadway, west of Main St., east of Cambie–was once primarily residential and home for a multi-cultural community of families and individuals. Small pockets of the original dwellings, buildings, and businesses still exist and serve as a tangible reminder of the varied history of this part of the community.
Join Christine Hagemoen to explore the surprisingly rich history of this area and learn some of the stories of the families, workers, legacy businesses, and social groups who once called this unique part of Mount Pleasant home.
Location: Tour will start and end in the Mount Pleasant area. Paid participants will receive the exact starting location upon registration.
Please note:
– This tour is a 2 hour +/- outdoor activity that will require participants to navigate a variety of terrain!
